Africa International Film Festival seeks entries for 4th edition

Entries for the 4th edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), has opened for the 2014 edition.

The call for entries by AFRIFF, a platform that seeks to give expression to African cinema by recognising and rewarding excellence in the industry across Africa and beyond, begins the schedule for the 4th edition of the pan African award system.

The 4th edition of the truly entertaining film festival will hold between November 9 and 16, 2014 at the prestigious Tinapa Resort in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.

Eligible films must have been produced after January 1, 2013 and preference will be given to films yet to be screened globally or in Africa. Categories include Feature, Short, Documentary and Animation with monetary award prizes ranging from $3000 – $6000 across the categories up for grabs.

“If you wish to have your film considered for the 4th Africa International Film Festival, please include a DVD copy of the film, plus a synopsis and/or press kit as soon as possible. We also require you to complete our entry submission form,” a statement by Chioma Ude, founder and chief executive of the award, reads.

Deadline for receipt of entry submission forms and screeners for Short films (40 minutes or less) is June 13 while submissions for Feature films (more than 40 minutes) is slated for June 30, 2014.

For entry guidelines and other rules and regulations, organsiers advise filmmakers to visit www.africafilmfest.org or the award’s facebook pages www.facebook.com/AfricaFilmFest  and www.facebook.com/groups/AfricafilmFest.

Organisers have set July 24th as deadline while informing that each entry, which must be submitted on DVD (any region) with foreign language works to be dubbed or subtitled in English, must be accompanied by a completed entry form.

Entries for the only festival in Nigeria with monetary benefit, are to be mailed to the Africa International Film Festival office on 5th Floor, Ibukun House, Plot 1637, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
