The world of corporate endorsement recently witnessed Feel-Good rapper, Magnito signing a lucrative contract worth a whooping sum of N20 million for a period of one year with the first and only Nigerian phone company, Tingo Mobile.
Magnito, is presently said to be the newest artiste in town to get on the corporate endorsement side of things. The rapper was signed on by Tingo Mobile, to represent her as her official face and ambassador..
This was disclosed at the official press launch for Tingo Mobile at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, on last Monday.
Tingo Mobile, proudly made in Nigeria, also announced that it has agreed to buy a majority stake (51%) in Mass Telecom Innovation Nigeria Plc (MTI) for about 4 billion Naira ($25 million) to develop rural broadband in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Tingo Mobile, Dozy Mmobuosi, some of the unique features the company is introducing through her mobile devices include GPS tracking systems, mobile point-of-sale (POS) function, localized emoticons that uses Nigerian cultural references in the phones’ chat application, etc.
In partnership with The Place by Papas, Lekki, Tingo Mobile will host Magnito to an unveiling party in July, to be followed by a series of other activations.
A few days ago dropped a new single featuring his BIG E label mate TKON. The song is titled ‘Chibuzor’.
Tingo Mobile is said to have a variety of ranges that stand shoulder to shoulder with other existing imported mobile phones at reasonably affordable prices.
