“The woman is the secret of her man’s success; she is the strength of the man, the window through which he sees, receives and fulfills his assignment”. Those were the words of Mrs. Wunmi Olaoye, guest speaker at the 2014 annual PRISCA Conference of the Women of Virtue arm of The Father’s House Church, which held last Saturday with the theme, ‘Hold Fast”.  The event, which turned out to be an auspicious outing sought to encourage and empower women to face their numerous challenges, with courage, hope and wisdom especially at the home front, so that they can be positive change agents in their immediate families and the communities around.

Speaking on the topic, ‘The Woman – Her Love, Family, Work and Her Lord”, the banker cum evangelist charged participating women not to be like Jezebel, who stirred her husband to do evil as recorded in 1st Kings 21vs 25, which reads – “But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up” but to be good and positive influence on their husbands as this will bring ultimate peace and blessing to all.

“What ideas are you selling to your husband? Are you a voice for God or the loudspeaker for the devil? What efforts are you making to help your husband identify and fulfill the purpose of God for his life?” asked Olaoye, stressing that the purpose of God for every woman is to compliment her husband, not to complicate issues in his life or work.

“Every man has a God-given assignment and the woman is thereto compliment him; not to complicate issues”, she added.

While urging every woman to stand firm in spite of every difficulty, she noted that “failure at any level and in every situation is just a pause; not the end or the bus-stop in life, hence we should be hopeful and unrelenting as we strive towards all round fulfillment” assuring that since the creation of woman was God’s original idea, she cannot fail.”

Warning further that contrary to the view of many that love is all about what we feel or see, she stressed that “Love is not a feeling; it is a commitment and must be expressed through patience and humility; not by insisting on your own way.”

Corroborating this, another guest speaker, Mrs. Seyi Ayesa, who also doubles as Brand Manager with Friesland Campina opined that the purpose of God for every woman is so unique that God took special attention to fashion her. She therefore encouraged every woman to stay connected to her maker; not just that all her needs might be met but that she might fulfill her purpose of existence.

It does not matter what your husband and children may be doing now; if you know the will of God, you can pray them into the will of God. You must see God always so that even when things are falling apart, there will be an anchor for your soul,” she urged.

The grand finale of the event came with a powerful message delivered by the wife of the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor (Mrs.) Rita Udoh, who charged women not to toy with the gifts of God in their lives (marriage inclusive) but to guard these jealously and hold fast in faith.

Udoh noted that oftentimes, the devil uses such tools as dissatisfaction, delusion, disobedience, disunity and discouragement to stop us from holding tenaciously to what God has given us but she urged all women to be hopeful and prayerful.

“Do not assume that you are stronger than the enemy; dwell in the presence of God so you can be shielded from evil”, she charged.
