The launch, which took place in Lagos recently was inspired by the need to accommodate more people on Lamudi’s platform.

This development, coming on the heels of the successful roll-out of the company’s iOS’ application in four countries a week before, is expected to kick-off in the Nigerian market soon. The Lamudi applications are designed to meet the growing demand for mobile internet services in emerging markets, of which Nigeria is on.

At the official launch, managing director of Lamudi Nigeria, Obi Ejimofo, expressed his excitement at the innovation, saying “At Lamudi, we are in constant evolution mode and constant expansion simultaneously. We want to make finding your next home as simple as making a phone call and the Lamudi application makes this possible.”

According to the company’s officials, both the Android and iOS applications have customised search functions which allow users to easily filter results by country. A key feature of the app is the match alert function, which notifies users as soon as a property that suits their needs hits the market.

Launched in 2013, Lamudi is a global property portal focusing exclusively on emerging markets, with Lamudi ventures collectively listing over 400,000 properties from across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
