Days after organisers of the Fashion and Music Entertainment, FAME, a runway-themed showcase of the abundant talents in the music and fashion industry, started sales of forms for the ingenious event, indications have emerged that it is already generating immeasurable excitement among Nigerian youths desirous of a career in fashion and music. This much was revealed by Bukiie Smart, the brain behind the project.
According to the Accounting and Finance undergraduate of the University of Reading, United Kingdom, “We are genuinely enthused by the response FAME has generated among young Nigerians since we started selling the forms. I didn’t realise that an idea I conceived to change the way things were done in the fashion and music industries which I am passionate about, would be the catalyst for thousands of young Nigerians who want to be music and fashion stars.” Entry form for the event, which has been on sale from July, she said, is in two categories – fashion and music and submitted applications would be thoroughly scrutinized and successful applicants would be shortlisted for training and audition which would be the utmost pre-condition for qualification into the finals of the event.
Smart disclosed that the training and audition sessions would entail all shortlisted applicants in the two categories converging daily at a designated location where they would be engaged by professional instructors.
Only the best five in each of the two categories would converge at the grand finale where the winner of the star prize of N1million for each category would be chosen. She said that unlike other competitions, all finalists would each receive consolation prizes. Entry forms and registration details are available on the FAME website and is open to anyone in any part of Nigeria and even beyond.
