Twenty-three-year-old Moscow-based international recording artist, Bangbala Damola, who goes by the stage name, D-Bamz, is back in the studio few weeks after he released the video of his debut single entitled ‘Run This Town’ shot in Lagos and directed by Matt Max, to release his full album which will soon hit the air waves if the opinions of artistes signed to Rebel Music record label are considered.
D-Bamz, who speaks Russian fluently, over the years has created for himself a strong reputation as a songwriter and music director, having worked with renowned producers like Danny Rite, his personal producer; and in studio such as Locomotive Music One Mic and having just concluded his work as executive songwriter on the audio book about Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovica, and also did executive songwriting and music directing for F.Pope’s debut album ‘Son of a Gun,’ among many others.
D-bamz, who has won many international awards and nominations, is one Nigerian artiste who has been promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage in diaspora through his creativity.
When asked what inspired him to leave the International music scene where he has enjoyed fame, for the Nigerian music industry, he explained that he initially didn’t plan to stay back in Nigeria to do music, but circumstances made him decide to the contrary. “Some colleagues in the past have asked me this question and I am always quick to inform them that I never planned to relocate to Nigeria to do music, but I came home to bury my mother; thereafter I saw the need to stay back in my country to do what I love best to do. By God’s grace, this album I am working on will be a blueprint album that will help reshape this industry,” he said.
D-Bamz, who infuses Russian into his songs, is a talented rapper and promises to bring the real Rap game into the Nigerian music market while adding that his style of music will attract foreign investors into Nigeria music industry.
