2face takes free and fair election campaign to Ikeja City Mall

Nigerian music star Tuface Idibia and some other artiste recently took a campaign themed “Vote Not Fight” to the Ikeja City Mall , as they joined in the call for a free and fair elections in 2015.

Tuface who spoke to journalists during the campaign said: “I chose Ikeja City Mall for this campaign because many young people patronize this place. If you want to pass a message across to people, particularly young people, a shopping mall like this, is one place you can do that successfully. Therefore, the campaign for ‘vote not fight’ is basically to talk to the youths to shun violence in the forthcoming election,’’ he said.

Using the opportunity to encouraged youths to desist from trouble and embrace the principles of free and fair elections come 2015, he noted that that the turnout of young people who were at the mall to welcome him was impressive as he added that the response is an indication that people want peace, “they want a free and fair election because they are tired of politicians using them to cause violence and neglecting them when they get into power,’’ he said.

Some lucky Shoppers however went home with Infinix smart phones, bottles of Hennessey, souvenirs, dog tags, spinet cards, complimentary movie tickets from Silver bird and some of 2face’s hit CDs, some were given the opportunity to sing any of his songs and go home with Infinix Zero smart phone, Digifon Speaker, Hennesy bag packs, BlackBrotherBaby face cap while others won N5, 000 cash after a dance.

Screaming in excitement, one of the winners, Vian Osagie, said “I have always looked up to a day like this. I met 2face one on one and had selfie with him, I also sang one of his songs and I am going home with an Infinix Zero smart phone. I feel elated.”

Another winner, Lola Bello said she purchased items worth N10, 000 from Ruff ‘n’ Tumble and sang one of Tuface’s songs. “In return, I got his autograph on his CD and a digifon speaker as a reward,” she said.

Others artiste who were at the programme are Dammy Krane, Rock Steady, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Wunmi Obe, Terry G, Shay shay, Kenny Ogungbe, Kenny Saint Brown, Weird Mc, Nigga Raw, Yaw of Wazobia Fm, and I.D Ogungbe.
