Having found a producer who could translate her thoughts into music, Gloria Ibru has dropped her first single.
Titled Sugar Mama, the song, which tells listeners to enjoy life and forget their sorrow, is a blend of highlife, afrobeat, calypso and jazz, among other genres.
Speaking in a chat with Klieg Light, during the media unveiling of the song on Wednesday, December 24, Ibru said Sugar Mama, produced by Wale Oni, is not about sex, romance or a relationship between an older woman and a young man, but about people forgetting their sorrows and enjoying life.
She disclosed that, although this is the first track from the album due for later this year, when it eventually drops it would feature another track produced by master producer Cobhams Asuquo.
Sugar Mama also features fast rising act O’Franklin.
