Nigeria-born United States-base James Junior Akasi with the stage name 2Jay is one budding music artiste with talents and ready to take music to another level.
The Delta State born producer, writer and singer started his career in music as a teenager in 2004 before he along with his family relocated to USA in 2007.
2Jay who since he started music professionally has been in a music group known as Southsiders which is made up of talented young singers; Black Eye, Red Kick and T-Blinks. The group recorded an album many years back which was produced by Daddy Ref and co-produced Wizzy Pro thereafter the 23 year-old dancehall artiste released a video album in 2005.
He published his digital album titled African Pride in 2013 and proceeded on an international tour with an American Tour group.
Speaking with Daily Independent recently, 2Jay while expressing his love and passion for Nigeria’s music said Nigeria’s music is one of the most accepted in the world. “Nigerians are talented and our songs are accepted everywhere in the world. This informed why I am backing her to do music the Nigerian way,” the afro hiphop singer said.
Looking forward to work with music stars like 2face, Terry G, Modenine, MI, Wizkid and Ice-prince. Speaking on his latest effort Bombom which he said is a combination of Africa’s unique dance steps and lyrics.
