Famous Thespian and chairman of newly floated Theatre and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPPAN) Yemi Solade has explained why he dropped his political ambition of representing Lagos West senatorial district.
Remember it was reported last October that Yemi Solade who was enmeshed in adultery scandal many months back like his colleagues is vying for a political office. Days after the news went viral little or nothing was heard about the political ambition of this Nollywood talented actor except that he graces political function of All Progressives Congress (APC) like some of his colleagues.
Chatting with Daily Independent on Tuesday, Yemi Solade said he jettisoned his political ambition because he couldn’t play Nigeria’s peculiar brand of politics
“Yes some people thought it will be nice if I represent them at the senate and to me that was a great honour. Unfortunately, I realized that I can’t play some games as a politician. I decided it is better and more honourable to move on. I am still a card-carrying member of APC but I don’t intend to contest for any political office now or in the nearest future”, Solade said categorically.
