As part of the social responsibilities to bring succor to less privileged members of the society and to render voluntary care, Royal Diamond Orphanage Home, a non-government, none-profit organization has commissioned its international headquarters in Lagos.

The orphanage which is situated in the sub-urban area of Ojodu, Lagos was commissioned during the week by His Royal Highness, Adelani Obatula, the Olojodu of Ojodu, Lagos.

Oba Adetula in commending the founders of the orphanage described the initiative as a giant stride and great development in the right direction.

The monarch however admonished the founders to keep the flag flying, urging them not to rest on their oars in their bid to explore the many opportunities of humanitarian services that abound in the initiative.

Welcoming guests to the event, Executive Director and co-founder of the orphanage Pastor Favor Olayemi, ascribed the effort to the glory to God particularly in realizing his long standing dream to establish an orphanage describing the move as an opportunity to render service to God and humanity as his core aspiration in life.

Pastor Olayemi said he had conceived the initiative with his wife, Jane Olayemi during the years of their courtship, and committed their hearts to the course till it saw the light of day.

According to Olayemi, “The concept first started as a family fellowship for children in our community then now the passion has grown to an orphanage and it is still growing as long as Jesus tarries. We are resolute in ensuring we play our part in seeing a world with little or no orphans in our society”, said Olayemi.

The orphanage logo was also unveiled during the commissioning by Pastor Oluwatosin Awolalu, Head Pastor, Messiah Area of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

In his remark, representative of the State’s permanent secretary, Ministry of Youth Sports and Social Development Mr. Adams, attributed the successful approval and commissioning of Royal Diamond Orphanage to the full compliance of the founders with regulation and requirements of the state government’s relevant agency.

He however stressed the need for improvement on the initiative, noting that “the project can only get better and noting less”.

Present at the commissioning were other dignitaries and representatives from Church ministries, relevant government and private agencies including Chief (Mrs.) Tosan Aisha, MD/CEO, Bi-Communications, initiator of Crime Fighters; National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Matters (NAPTIP); DBG Initiatives; Farsight consulting services, among others.
