Last Friday, it was announced that veteran actor and movie maker, Peter Bunor was dead. The news spread fast though the cause of his death was yet to be announced by the family. His son Peter Bunor Jr announced this just hours after the death. “‘In the early hours of today, my father, friend, teacher, confidant passed on.
Speaking with some of his colleagues in the industry they had confirmed that Bunor had been sick for some time now and the family had been doing their best to keep him alive. We reached his son over the weekend who gave the actual cause of death. Bunor Jr revealed that his father actually died of complications from a series of stroke he had been having for the past five years.
Bunor was an award winning actor. On 28th October 2010, he was celebrated by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) for having spent 30 years in the movie industry. The late actor, who had featured in many movies, died at age 60.
Since his death, many of his colleagues have been pouring encomiums on his. Veteran actor, Pete Edochie, said he was shocked to hear of Bunor’s death. He said, “I worked with him a couple of times. He was always a good company to work with. We bear same first name and we got along very well. I will miss him.”
