The authentic Christianity is the faith delivered to the saints (Jude). It started with Jesus and he handed it over to the Apostles and from then it moves from one generation to others. But along the line, some people have added errors which are not part of it from the beginning. I have a mandate from the Lord to contend for the faith delivered to the saints.
The true Christianity is built on the foundation of the Apostles, Prophets and Jesus Christ being the Chief Cornerstone. If you do not want to deviate, you must study how Jesus and the Apostles practiced Christianity and stick to their ways.
But today a lot of strange doctrines have been added to the truth. When you adulterate the truth, you make it powerless. It has no real teeth to bite. In Nigeria and generally in Africa, there has been some addition to the truth handed over to us. I make bold to state that some are mixing Africanism with Christianity. So what some people have in Nigeria and in other parts of Africa is African Gospel and not the true Gospel. The Church has started to raise Christians who are wicked. African people are vindictive. They like to avenge for the wrong done to them. Their doctrine is eye for eye, tooth for tooth like it was in time of Mosaic laws. That is not part of faith delivered to us. Where do you get the doctrine that spirit or your enemies should die? Jesus is noted with giving life and not death. While Jesus raised the dead to life, you are commanding people to die.
We are to build on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets (Eph.2:20). Foundation of Apostles and Prophets are God’s Foundation that standeth sure. 2 Tim.2:19 states that “Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity”.
God has foundation and standard. If you deviate from God’s standard, Satan will accommodate you and ensure that he deceives you into his eternal damnation. If you by any revelation or inspiration deviate from the set foundation, you are not building for God.
Let’s start with Jesus. How did he treat his enemies? “Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing”. How do you treat your enemies today? Look at Jesus talking in Matt.5:43-48 “Ye have heard that it hath been said, thou shall love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven … Be ye therefore perfect as your Father which is in heaven is perfect”.
In Acts 7:55-60, when Deacon Stephen (the first Martyr) was being stoned, he prayed for his enemies. “… And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he has said this, he fell asleep”. That is authentic Christian practice.
In Acts 4:23-31, Apostles were persecuted but rather than ask God to send Holy Ghost Fire to kill their persecutor, they prayed for more power. And in Acts 4:33 the bible says “And with great power gave the apostles witness for the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and great grace was upon them all.
Many Christians are suffering today because they are not walking in love. They walk in hatred and bitterness. The tormentor is tormenting them. It is high time you return to the ways of the Lord.
Apostle Paul in his book to the Romans, gave us what to believe in Chapters 1-11 and from Chapter 12-16 he gave us how to behave. Please study it more closely. In Romans 12:9-10 we were told to allow love in our midst. Vs 14 says “Bless them which persecute you, bless and curse not.
Vs 17 states we should not recompense evil for evil.
Vs 18 states “… live peacefully with all men”.
Vs 19 states, “avenge not yourselves”.
Vs 20 states that when our enemies are hungry, we should feed them.
The principles stated above are ingredients of genuine Christianity. If you deviate from the above, you are practicing African adulterated Christianity. Repent and return to the old ways which our Father delivered to our hands. God bless you.
