The fuel scarcity is almost gone as most filling station are now selling the product, and at the regulated price. But prior, Nigerians had witnessed more than a week long of hardship as petroleum products were hard to buy. If you eventually got to buy, it would be at exorbitant rates. Some say they bought petrol as high as N300 per litre. It is not just the average Nigerians that felt the crunch, celebrities also had their own share of the suffering and some of them were very vocal about it.

Some actors even resorted to desperate measures that got people talking. Funke Akindele for example went to church last Sunday riding her bicycle to the surprise of her church members. This is an actress who has three exotic cars. She said on her Instagram handle, “I can’t just sit down and whine that there is no fuel, I had to do something”

For actress, Mimi Ojiekwere she claims she was robbed due to the lingering fuel scarcity. According to her, when she decided use alternative means to buy fuel, she was robbed off her valuables. “I Left my film location. Got to the island, and stopped to get black market fuel. As I stepped outside my car for just eight minutes, a thief had broken my glass and made away with my valuable. My anger is that if it was not for the fuel scarcity all these would not happened. Federal government, when are we going to live like true citizens of our country? abeg o,” she said to Box Office.

There are however some who took the issue very seriously, they had been making statements condemning the government about the situation. One of such people is Nkem Owoh, popularly called Osuofia. The Enugu-state born MTN brand ambassador, said its nothing but an abomination to make one of the world’s highest crude oil producer at the moment to suffer its masses over the product it should have in abundant.

His words, “I am here to voice out my opinion and not fact. But It’s a sad thing to see fuel scarcity being a trending topic in my home land. Those Nigerians living abroad please what is good to write about home? If not four our youths who are putting Nigeria on the map with good news either in the entertainment sector or educative sector, Nigeria is bad News. It’s impossible for a farmer with one of the biggest healthy farm land that sells food product to other villagers and have his family hungry. One of the world’s highest crude oil producer at the moment is having severe petrol scarcity. The giant of Africa. What is happening to my country?”

Entertainment personality and former wife of Afrobeat artiste, Femi Kuti, Funke kuti also made her thoughts known on the issue. She posted this on her facebook page, “God Help us. This is the first time in all my life that I have heard that radio stations are shutting down because of petrol scarcity, I truly understand though because I’m feeling the pain as well. Shame won’t let me even post how much I had to buy diesel and petrol. I have reached my breaking point. I can’t continue to pay this ridiculous amount. On top of that I haven’t had light in God knows how long. I have decided to stay without light for now and pray I get some cool breeze. Am I the only one feeling this pain? Lord Almighty take the wheel. Seriously though, can someone please explain what’s going on?”

Many other celebrities went online expressing their displeasure. Here are their comments
