A Church dedicated to worshipping cannabis has opened – and it even has its own version of the Ten Commandments.
The First Church of Cannabis, set up by Bill Levin, already has 700 members – also known as ‘Cannabeterians’.
The church won’t sell the “healing plant”, but will allow members to smoke it inside, according to Levin, 56.
Cannabis is illegal in Indiana for both medical and recreational use.
Its version of the Ten Commandments, the Deity Dozen, describes the plant as “our sacrament”.
Levin claimed that the church, which holds its first service on July 1st, lacks the “guilt, sin and judgement” of other religions.
He said: “We’re going to do all the good things that churches do – celebrate life.” love, compassion and good health.
“Everyone is going to leave in a happy, spiritual, healthy way.”
