Your talent determines what you can do. Your motivation determines how much you are willing to do and your attitude determines how well you do it. Oyekola  Temitayo popularly known as MC T1 is one up and coming act who certainly understands this concept and is utilizing it.

Denizens of Apapa on Sunday, the 26th of July trooped down to Church of God Mission Hall for a drama cum comedy show that is certain to remain in the minds of attendees for a long time to come. The show was put together by MC T1 himself, an event manager and CEO of Green77 Creations, an all-round theatre outfit that equally gives back to their community in the form of drama competitions for junior and senior secondary schools in Apapa and its environs.

The show opened with a skit from guest artistes of the night, Shortfamily and Transformers, whose separate performances had members of the audience in stiches in no time. For many, it was an opportunity to let their hairs down and laugh away their worries as the two acts were uniquely on point, giving the audience what they needed to hear when they needed to hear it.

After their truly hilarious performance the stage was taken by a myriad of up and coming comedy and theatre acts whose short yet funny skits rolled on endlessly. Acts like Mc Smile, Mc Ebullient, Mc Apostle, Mc Solution, Mc Funny Mouth, Daddy Bonky, Omo Meji amongst others were indeed outstanding.

Unexpectedly, many of the new acts had fresh, original content that would have given established acts a run for their money. Their insightful jibes and truly talented delivery in local Pidgin-English parlance made the show truly second to none other.

The event took another turn when d host Mc T1 was introduced by Mc Ebullient with a short drama skit which held the expectant audience in anticipation. It was indeed a spectacle.

The climax of the show took place when Mc T1 did his comedy/drama skit “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” alongside Mc Smile. A new unanticipated dimension was opened to the show as MC T1’s fresh delivery and interpretation of the popular Nigerian show ensured that it will not be forgotten in a hurry.

In their own way, these up and coming acts unbridled by the fear of failure delivered an unforeseen, new kind of comedy. At the end of the show, many were loath to leave, but like all good things, it had to come to an end. The event was brought to an eventual close with a special prayer and blessing from the resident pastor of the church Reverend Godwin Obi.

ACT D CRACK is a vision that was berthed November, 2014 and was created to showcase comedy through meaningful drama. The vision of ‘Act D Crack’ is expected to be an annual occurrence creating a plinth for up and coming acts to express themselves and hone their talents.

Having worked with Media Trend Ltd, a film production company in Festac, Oyekola Temitayo opined that he has great passion for cinematography and the next level for the company is to begin training for talented youths who have passion for cinematography.

Comedy is acting out optimism, and real talent shines through regardless of how many others there are around you. MC T1 has certainly proved himself to be one of the real talents delivering his fresh kind of comedy.
