As part of efforts to rebrand the image of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria via activities geared towards the upgrades of members welfare and repositioning the body for the much anticipated music and entertainment revolution sweeping across the globe, the Pretty Okafor led PMAN is set to mark another milestone in the history of the association.
At a media parley that held during the week in Lagos, PMAN unveiled activities of its latest project which is forthcoming ‘Lagos Urban Music Festival’ slated for October 1 at the Freedom Park, Lagos Island.
The festival director, Mr. Dare Fasasi better known as Baba Dee informed the gathering that the festival is the first of its kind in the city of Lagos, where over 50 artistes and 10 Disc jockeys (DJ) are expected to thrill guests and invitees.
He said: “The Festival which is been organised by PMAN in collaboration with Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture shall feature three performance stages, to mark the 55th Independence Anniversary celebration of our Great Nation Nigeria. Lagos being the hub of urban culture and music is the entertainment tourism destination.
The Event shall hence forth be celebrated annually in our joint bid to Lagos as the tourism destination South West of the country. All Music and Entertainment loving Nigeria corporate bodies and Government Agencies are welcome to the groove.”
Okafor however used the opportunity to intimate the gathering of what he and his committee has been able to achieve so far.
Top music icons that graced the unveiling include Eedris –Abdulkareem, Jazzyman Olofin, Sunny Neji, Chocolate city, the PMAN President Mr. Pretty Okafor, Ochonma, King Feladey, representative of the permanent secretary of Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Mr. Dele Balogun, Mr. Attai Oguche, the Event and Activation manager, Tecno Nigeria Limited, Mr. Kunle Oye-Igbemo of GS1 Nigeria, Mr Olusoga Ope-Ewe of Crusader Sterling pension, among others.
