President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Feberesima will join her colleagues from other parts of the world in Ivory Coast on Tuesday at the World Intellectual Property (WIPO) seminar to suggest ways of ‘improving Actors’ Socio-Economic conditions’.
The seminar organized in conjunction with the Organization de la Francophone (OIF) has a central theme of, ‘How to Make a Living from Music: How Digital Technologies Impact on the Music Industry’.
In another development, a Federal High Court on Monday in Lagos struck out a case instituted by actor, McSmith Ochendo, seeking to remove Ibinabo Fiberesima as president of the AGN.
The presiding judge, Justice Yinusa ruled that the matter lacked merit. The actor had gone to the court seeking an injunction to remove her from office because she is an ex-convict.
The judge stated that Ochendo cannot seek to remove Ibinabo because he didn’t contest in the election that produced her as AGN’s president.
Ochendo however vowed to appeal the ruling. He claimed that the matter, which was brought before the court, was not addressed by the judge. According to him, Ibinabo shouldn’t have contested the election.
