International gospel artiste, Lionel Peterson and Nigeria’s gospel act, Sammie Okposo were among the top ‘A’ list gospel artistes that thrilled over 5,500 fun seekers at the 10th edition of the Christmas Praise Jamz organised by 96.9 Cool FM radio station.
The event held at the Expo Hall, Eko Hotels and Suites witnessed a large turnout of audience was hosted by ace comedian, Ali Baba who proved why he is nicknamed the king of comedy in Nigeria.

One of the performing artistes, ‘The Pillars’, an acapella group of five youths made the second stanza of the National Anthem sound melodious with the acapella rendition which was well appreciated by the crowd.
The DayStar Mass Choir made up of about 300 choristers mounted the stage and performed some Christmas tunes.
Flo, another artiste sent the crowd into ecstasy when he rendered his popular hit track Twale.

The event also featured ‘The Peacemakers’ a dance group that left the stage with wild cheers from the crowd for their choreographic display.
Sammie Okposo of the Wellu Wellu fame also took the audience in a session of praise and worship at the event which also featured the likes of Eben and Tim Godfrey.

International guest artiste from South Africa, Lionel Peterson, sent the crowd wild with his rendition of Jabulani Africa, Come Celebrate and Peace from his rich list of worship and praise songs.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Group Managing Director of Cool FM, Amin Moussalli, said the Praise Jamz show could not have been possible without the support of the audience and Golden Penny, official sponsors of the event.

According to him, “Its ten years of continuing Praise Jamz, we just flash back to remember how the programme started, the genesis of the Praise Jamz began with a lady, Paula Kalu, unfortunately for her, she was posted to work on Sunday.

She wanted to go to church but the programme didn’t allow her, so she began playing gospel music to enable herself and her listeners feel in church.

So we began Praise Jamz on the streets and on the Ocean side, now it’s gotten this far”.
He assured that in subsequent editions, international artistes from the United States of America will be invited to perform to increase the momentum of the show and expectation of the audience.

“We had to stop selling tickets as soon as we had sold 5,500 tickets which is the seating capacity and there were so many others queuing outside. The fact is that without the audience, we have no show.

The audience have kept the show going”, Moussalli said.
