Star actress, Monalisa Chinda, and her self-titled magazine, Monalisa Magazine, have been finding it hard to hold down a proper staff. As a new comer in the media industry, Monalisa continues to clash with her writers and editors. With just one edition out, the magazine has lost two editors.
The magazine’s first editor, Kelvin Keshi, resigned after dragging the actress and her partner, Lanre Nzeribe to court claiming they have been using the magazine staff as slaves by not paying their meagre salaries. Shortly after, Monalisa employed another editor, Estelle Ogbonna, but last week, Estelle confirmed that she has quit the job just after two months. She said she tendered her resignation letter because the publisher of the magazine couldn’t keep to her own part of the agreement they had.
“She thinks the magazine will just start making money like that. She does not know it takes time. So we will continue working without pay until the magazine starts making money, that will never happen,” one of her reporters told Box Office off camera.
