Popori songress, Queen Ure and some members of her fan club, visited students of Bethesda Home for the blind on Saturday, February 22.

The music act and her Surulere team, spotting orange-coloured polo shirts on jean, assembled at the premises of Lagos Television, Ikeja before heading out to the school.

At the school, she gave out toiletries, foodstuffs, bedding materials, mattresses, soft drinks and several other necessities
after two session of singing and dancing with the students.

Asked why she decided to pay a visit to homes of the less privileged on a monthly basis, while other entertainers only do such when they are celebrating their birthday Queen Ure said “it is all about fulfillment. In her words it is good to make people happy, throughout this week I will be happy, I will feel fulfilled.”

As to how convenient it is to foot the bills monthly, the Popori Queen said: “Nobody is putting any pressure on me; it is what I have that I give out. At the end of every month, I take the money I would spend on myself from my earnings and what is left; I set aside for catering for the needy.”

She went further to say the worth of the items she gives out depends of how blessed she is at the end of every month, adding that people who believe in her passion have been supporting the club.

On how she picks the homes they visit, the entertainer revealed that she has a list of motherless homes and school of less privileged, which she picks from. People who have seen what she’s been doing also recommend places to visit,” she added.
Ure is still promoting her debut album titled Popori, however she is set to shoot the video of a new single titled The Popori Dance.
