NAIJAZZ music is to feature four of its artistes in this year’s iREP International Documentary Film Festival themed  “Rhythms Of Identity: Africa in self conversation.” As usual, music is always an integral part of the festival.

iREP is a touring film festival established by three Nigerian culture figures to promote independent documentary films and global awareness about the role of documentary films in deepening participatory democracy. It has been creating awareness and expression for aspiring and practising filmmakers, and providing a forum for people’s ingenuity to be showcased without prejudice to style or subject.

According to Femi Odugbemi, the iREP is designed to promote awareness about the power of documentary to serve as a means of deepening and sharing social and cultural education as well as encouraging participatory democracy in our societies.

Those expected to entertain at the event include US-based Afro-Jazz musician, Segun Awe, master bassist and director of SPAN academy of Jazz and Contemporary Music, Bright Gain, The Eko Brass Band and fast rising Afro-Jazz guitarist,  Adeh.

The event, produced by Inspiro Productions Ltd., will hold at the leading event and culture hotspot, Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos, on Sunday, 23 March 2014. The kick-off time is 2p.m.
