Nollywood actress and TV presenter, Tricia Esiegbe Kerry, has shown her softer side after taking battling against child abuse and molestation. Kerry’s latest advocacy project, “The Psychologist,” is a public awareness campaign against child sexual abuse, designed to expose sexual predators in Nigeria, create a support platform for victims and get the authorities to do more to support our children.
Just as the new project is gaining ground, the police have jumped on the train in the battle against child sexual abuse. The Inspector-General of Police, MD Abubakar, during the week invited Kerry and The Psychologist team to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, Area 11, Garki, Abuja.
The Inspector-General hailed The Psychologist team and instructed all 36 state commissioners of police and 12 DIG’s to work closely with them and give it all the necessary support. The visit was the first step to the planned celebrity road show. The team will also visit schools nationwide and hold town hall meetings in all the 36 states to educate people on ways to protect young and vulnerable children from sexual abuse.
