• It’ll expose our children to betting, says wife

In a move to protect her children from patronising the content of a movie, Amagwu Emmauela recently received the beaten of her life after she destroyed the Nigerian movie, ‘My Bet’ that was bought by her husband, Amagwu Iheanyi.

As informed, the husband who hails from Mgbidi in Imo state is currently making a move to annul their marriage following the wife’s action.

The movie which puts on display the rise of the now modernized betting system in Nigeria, lotto otherwise known as Baba Ijebu got destroyed by Emmanuella who used it as an easy means of putting it away from the reach of her children.

Stressing that it will drive them into betting, she pointed out that after watching it, she had no other option than to dispose it. As informed, the husband who bought it with intension of getting entertained got the brief of his wife’s action, later launched an attack on her, after which he asked for the annulment of their marriage.

Speaking, the associate producer of My Bet and head-honcho of Kingces Film Productions, Mr. Chima Ewurum condemned the woman’s action while pleading with the husband for clemency. “I really do not understand people’s perception to Nollywood. All over the world, movies are produced to teach lessons, as there will always be the bad and good sides of it.

“In the case of our movie, ‘My Bet,’ we portrayed the bad side and as well gave regrettable scenes for such. It is in line with our position to put things in place through the stories we put up to the screen. ‘My Bet’ is a hilarious movie; you can google to watch it online.

“It’s a comical one, and it has lessons to teach. So, I will urge the man to apply maturity by staying cool with the wife. I will further say that this is one of those unavoidable issues we face, but then, we still need to move on,” he said.

However, the movie as directed by Theodore Anyanji is marketed by Divine Touch Productions. It stars Nollywood actors like Chiwetalu Agu, Harry B, Dike Osinachi (Egbeigwe Apama), Jazzy Okey, Chinyere Nwabueze, Mc Yellow Mouth among others.

He said through progressive journalism and coverage, the team of the project would support the government by acting as an effective communication channel between the government and the good people of the state thereby bringing any possible communication gap. Perodically will also be an interaction where innovative and creative ideas will be shared, processed and compiled to the government.

‘’Okowa Magazine is a monthly publication of Delta Affairs Forum specially packaged as a constant information resource keeping the populace abreast of the recurrent and ongoing achievements of the prosperity agenda. Okowa Magazine aims at rebranding Delta State in her positive light and is also a platform for creative ideas towards an emerging Delta’’

‘’we sincerely crave your kind support and encouragement towards the continued success of this project. Without doubt, your support today will forever be remembered in the history books of Delta State and will certainly widen the readership of this publication, ’’ Okugbere posited.

Continuing, “Your stay in the Nigerian senate was remarkable; we are convinced that you will bring the same level of commitment to bear on your governance in Delta State.  Your performance will help us t improve the magazine, because we can see the efforts you are making to empower the grassroots and for the peace that exist in the state, ” he noted.

Captain Pius Sinebe, former chairman Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State, underscores the vision that in packaging the magazine, there were numerous logistic hills and valleys, several unavoidable handicaps on the part of the team, calling on candid support, suggestions and opinions for the team and that with continued influx of advise and contributions, the team and magazine would improve and get better.

Sinebe, also the Chairman of the occasion said the team has attraction to the creative industries and the pervasiveness of internet and mobile technology to reverse the scourge of unemployment in the state, believing that every young person should have access to opportunity irrespective of their location, connection, background, wealth and language.
