Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, announced the removal of four commissioners in the State Executive Council, with immediate effect.
They are Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Lucky James; Commissioner for Women Affairs, Blessing Maigida; Commissioner for Basic Education, Patrick Aguinede; and Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources, Chris Ebar.
The governor announced the sack in a statement signed by Prince Kassim Afegbua, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, declaring that the exercise was in line with government’s commitment to strengthen the system for optimal performance.
The statement directed the affected commissioners to hand over all government property in their possession to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
Oshiomhole thanked the former cabinet members for their service to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
