On Thursday January 23, Nollywood actors are going to take a walk against domestic violence in Nigeria and they are calling on Lagosians to join them in the walk.
According to the coordinator of the walk, Foluke Daramola, the actors have come together, as one, to fight what she described as an injustice that goes on every day in Nigeria unchecked. The walk, she said, would go a long way to bringing attention to the issue.
The group, which has called itself N17, will be converging at LTV 8, Agidingbi, Ikeja, by 8a.m. on Thursday, January 23 and from there walk around Ikeja, spreading anti-domestic violence messages. The N17 comprises mostly of Yoruba actors. In the group are Yomi Fash Lanso, Muyiwa Ademola, Faithia Williams (Balogun),Foluke Daramola-Salako, Moji Olaiya, Bimbo Oshin, Ayo Adesanya, Ronke Ojo (Oshodi Oke), Bisi Ibidapo Obe (Omo logbalogba), Eniola Badmus (Gbogbo big girls) and many others.
The walk will terminate at under the bridge Ikeja by Computer Village.
“This is a great opportunity for us as people who many look up to and as actors to give back to the society. We believe that by raising our voices on the domestic violence issue, it will be seen as a very serious problem that needs to be tackled,” Foluke said.”
